Mascarpone Frosting

Mascarpone is richer than cream cheese so this frosting recipe makes a very, very rich frosting.


I use this this very easy frosting with carrot, red velvet and chocolate cupcakes.

12oz (750g) mascarpone
5oz (300g) sour cream
1 cup (160g) confectioners (icing) sugar
2 tblspns Cointreau or Grand Marnier

Beat mascarpone, sour cream and confectioners sugar in large bowl with electric mixer until soft peaks form and ingredients are well combined. Gently fold in liqueur.

Thanks so much for sending in your recipe for mascarpone frosting.

I suppose you could easily substitute orange or lemon juice/rind for the grand marnier to make a more everyday frosting. Grand marnier would make a beautiful, rich dessert frosting. Yum.
