Homemade Chocolate Icing
by Helen
Chocolate cupcakes and chocolate cake are my not so secret indulgences. My name is Helen and I am definitely a chocoholic!!
A chocolate cupcake is a chocoholic’s delight when it is smothered with rich silky homemade chocolate icing. The velvet chocolate touch is what every cupcake needs, especially when topped with grated chocolate or chocolate chips!
Chocolate icing is easily available on markets but nothing can replace fluffy home-made chocolate icing on your cakes, cupcakes and brownies. Not only are they fun to make, you can add or do away with the different elements to suit your taste
Large amount of chocolate and a little less sugar will make a home-made chocolate icing cake fit for chocolate lovers. But when making your homemade chocolate frosting, be careful about its consistency. It should be spreadable, but don’t make it too thick as it will be too stiff and difficult to spread over the cupcakes. Therefore, keep the frosting light, soft and fluffy to enjoy your cupcake to the fullest.
Follow my favorite easy recipe to create magic with homemade chocolate icing and feel the bliss with every bite of your delicious cupcakes.
I just love it.
Ingredients¼ cup butter, softened
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 cups powdered sugar
A pinch of salt
MethodBlend butter and cocoa with continuous beating to get an even mixture.
Pour in milk and vanilla along with a pinch of salt.
Beat the mixture until it gets a smooth texture.
Stir in the sugar and keep beating until you get a smooth creamy icing.
If your icing gets thick, add a splash of milk to make it thinner.
Spread this versatile rich gooey home-made chocolate icing on any cake of your choice and enjoy!
Thanks so much Helen for your homemade chocolate icing recipe and for admitting to being a chocoholic!!
Regards
