Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Recipe

This chocolate butter-cream frosting recipe is delicious. I use it both as a frosting and as a filling for cakes and cupcakes.
1-1/2oz (50g) butter, softened
8oz (250g) cream cheese
5oz (150g) confectioners (icing) sugar
1oz (30g) cocoa powder
Put the butter and cream cheese in the bowl of an electric mixer and beat until pale and creamy. This will take approximately 6-8 minutes.
Gradually add the sifted confectioners sugar and cocoa and beat for a further 6-8.
By this stage the butter-cream frosting should be light and fluffy.
This frosting is perfect for frosting or filling, however, if you want to pipe the butter-cream you may need to add a little extra confectioners sugar to get the desired texture.
