Chicken and Carrot Pupcakes
Chicken and Carrot Pupcakes - ideal if your pet has more of a savory tooth!
....I know, I know, our dogs tend to eat everything. But there just might be some fussy eaters out there! This recipe for homemade dog treats is for them.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup softened margarine
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup corn oil
- 2 jars strained chicken baby food
- 2 cups grated carrot
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 325F (160C).

Combine flour and baking powder.

In a mixing bowl, beat softened margarine until smooth.

Add eggs and oil and mix well.

Add strained chicken, and grated carrot and mix until smooth.

Add flour mixture and mix thoroughly.

Spoon into cupcake tins, lined with cupcake papers.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center come out clean.
Pupcake frosting
- Plain or vanilla yogurt
- 2 or 3 strips of bacon, fried and crumbled (or use bacon-flavored jerky, cut into bits)
Frost chicken and carrot pup cakes with yogurt and sprinkle with crumbled bacon.
Once frosted, any leftover pupcakes need to be kept refrigerated.
